The negative controls on this graph represent samples that did not have the ampC promotor. The positive controls contained a known RFP promotor, and they were selected based on phenotype expression of the red fluorescence---#2 colony was particularly bright, #1 particularly dim. Promotors #1 and #2 contained the ampC promotor. The bars represent an average of three technical samples. The error bars on the graph are +/- one standard error between the three samples in each category. Fluorescence was measured using a fluorometer.
